On the currently still commercial property in Munichs Englschalking district, CollignonArchitecture is planning four new residential buildings with a total of 160 partially subsidized apartments. Located between the railway line, Barlowstraße and Brodersenstrasse, here an attractive new residential address is created on the eastern edge of the district, which provides superior residential quality. In the single-stage, restricted competition, Collignon's design convinced with its soft, rounded building bodies, which blend harmoniously into the surrounding small-scale development structure. The facades of the four future buildings show a free game of open and closed parts in different colours. They seem easy and playful and add an identity-forming, charismatic face to the building ensemble.Attractive and versatile floor plans feature the flat cuts for individual needs. The apartments with floor-to-ceiling windows in spacious living areas all open to the sun. The larger apartments also have additional benefits – either an additional dining area, pantry, closet, storeroom or a large bathroom. The park-like space around the new residential buildings with dense trees shields them from the railway track and reduces the noise of the city together with the sound-isolating glass wall to a minimum. All apartments of the upper floors comprise loggias for an even 'greener' living, the ground floor apartments all have private gardens. The spacious open areas affect into the apartments. In contrast, the public open spaces in the area along the Barlowstrasse and the Brodersenstrasse preserve the character of light tree groves. Under the high-setting crowns of loosely distributed large trees play and sports areas for older children and lounges can be found for the residents. Play areas for small children are being placed relating to the private green between the new buildings.
